Field Support Merchandiser


Location(s): Field based, covering areas within and surrounding Dundee, Perth, Fife, Aberdeen, Inverness & Stirling

Hours: 18 hrs per week (Tues, Thurs & Fri)

Salary: Competitive + mileage + incentives


The Role

We are currently seeking a Field Support Merchandiser to support the area manager in supporting the development and performance of a team of Merchandisers working within and around the above areas.

You would be responsible for the supporting to achieve successful execution of all agreed call activity within the areas so will therefore involve travelling between our client retail stores, carrying out a variety of activities or ‘calls’ within each store – providing call cover where required.

Other duties include:

  • Supporting inductions and training
  • Support the Area manager in achieving targets and KPIs
  • Carrying out routine audits
  • Deliver annual refresher training

Field Support Merchandisers will also be asked to undertake a range of Merchandiser activities within our client stores, including the following:

  • Amending and auditing current promotional displays
  • Implementing new displays
  • Erecting and placing PoS (Point of Sale) material(s)
  • Identifying unsold and out of date stock – destroying and replenishing where required
  • Ensuring stores are stocked with the correct newspapers, magazines and collectibles

This can be a physical role including aspects of prolonged periods of standing and bending in order to complete work on different levels, as well as manual handling activities i.e. lifting and carrying duties

What you will need:

Ideally, you will enjoy driving due to the extensive amount of travel involved and you will need to be able to drive and have access to your own vehicle. Due to the way that we work, you would also need to be self-motivated, driven and comfortable working and travelling alone. It is important that you’re able to build and maintain relationships with store contacts and managers and have a good eye for detail.

Our other essential criteria’s for our merchandisers are as follows:


  • Experience in a Retail or Field Marketing environment
  • Customer service experience
  • Flexibility with working days and hours
  • Able to work to deadlines
  • Able to receive and action clear instructions both verbally and in writing
  • Basic PC knowledge
  • Able to remain calm in a time sensitive situation
  • Experience of supervising and training team members (preferred)
